Legal Market Day: Warsaw 2020

Legal Market Day 2020 is the seventh edition of a CEE wide conference dedicated to lawyers from Central Eastern Europe who wish to create and develop innovative law firms. The purpose of the Legal Market Day is to combine professional experience with development and innovation. InvestCEE will contribute to the 2020 edition of the conference with a presentation on “Making Legal Innovation Work”.

Over the last couple of years the InvestCEE team has been advising corporate clients and law firms across Central Eastern Europe (CEE) on optimizing legal work processes and has gathered valuable insights on what works and what doesn’t when it comes to legal innovation. Our founder and CEO will contribute to the 2020 edition of the Legal Market Day with a presentation that summarizes findings and best-practice tips in relation to using legal technology.

With digital transformation going mainstream in the legal industry, the core of the legal services business is actually at stake: in order for innovation to truly work, it needs to interfere with the billable hour business model of law firms. At this stage we see no way for lawyers to avoid taking risks as there seem to be two options: (1) lawyers may stay away from innovation but then risk that their service delivery becomes obsolete over time or (2) lawyers can choose to dive into innovation and then take the necessary risks that come with the unknown.

The presentation on Making Legal Innovation Work will dive into taking meaningful and well-managed risks with the aim to make the innovation formula of {people + process + technology} work for the benefit of organizations: law firms or corporate legal departments.
